TAI Kung Fu of Idaho is a system that seeks to embody the philosophy put forward by Bruce Lee when he said, “Absorb what is useful, Discard what is not, Add what is uniquely your own.”
Originally established by David German as TAI Martial Arts, combining his knowledge of Japanese Jujitsu, American Kenpo and various Chinese Kung Fu styles, TAI Kung Fu of Idaho continues this tradition of absorbing knowledge from numerous martial arts systems.
Black belts in TAI Kung Fu are encouraged to explore other arts, study with other masters, and bring that knowledge back to their art to pass along to their students. With this mindset, TAI Kung Fu of Idaho continues to grow.
The current Grandmaster, Kevin Anderson, leads by example in this regard with more than fifty years in martial arts as a 9th Degree Black Belt in Goju Kyo Kai, a 1st Degree Black Belt in Shorin Ryu and an extensive background in kickboxing. When attending Master Kevin’s classes you will find black belts in attendance from across the martial arts community including American Kenpo, Goju Ryu, Shotokan, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido and more. All sharing their experience, wisdom and enthusiasm with each other and students.
